AFTER SCHOOL MIDDLE SCHOOL TENNIS
Not a WCPSS program
The PRCR Middle School League is organized through partnership with the Raleigh Tennis Association (RTA) and the Raleigh Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources Department (PRCR). Although the PRCR has permission by the Wake County Public School System (WCPSS) athletic director to distribute recruitment materials, the league is not a WCPSS athletic program. A physical exam is not required to play.
Raleigh Tennis Association and Raleigh Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources are excited to introduce an after school 6th, 7th and 8th grade co-ed tennis league. This fall 2017 pilot program provides match play between four participating middle schools. The format is designed to provide opportunities for students to play tennis with their friends and to develop the concept of teamwork while learning the game of tennis.
Players will learn the basics including keeping score, where to stand and practice their strokes while meeting new friends and getting exercise. This 6 week program is a fun, low pressure tennis experience promoting a sport for life. No experience required.
