RANKING TEAMS
FIRST, the overall record will be looked at. A team with a 7-0 record will be ahead of a team with a 6-1 record, etc.
SECONDLY, if teams are tied with the same number of losses such as 6-1 and 8-1, a percentage will be taken of the individual matches won, fewest sets lost and then fewest games lost.

Rules

  1. The home team will be the higher ranked team from regular season play. The home team will furnish new balls. If the higher ranked team’s courts are unavailable, the opponents courts will be used. If neither team’s courts are available, the local league coordinator will try to find courts. . The LLC reserves the right to schedule the playoffs at courts other than the higher ranked team's courts if it is deemed necessary.
  2. Players do not need to have played any minimum number of regular season matches to participate in the local league playoffs.
  3. If a team participating in the playoffs forfeits an entire team match, that team’s playoff matches will be null and void. Future play in the local league may be in jeopardy.
  4. If a team cannot or chooses not to participate in the playoffs and communicates this decision to the league coordinator before the playoff tournament begins, then that withdrawal from the playoffs will not be considered a team default and that team shall not be penalized.

Once a playoff match is completed, the captain should enter the results in Tennislink within one hour of the end of the match. Please do not use your phone apps for score entry. We have had problems in the past. Also, please enter scores and players accurately. It is very difficult to make changes once scores have been entered. The Linkteam has to make the changes.

***We have had problems in the past with overzealous crowd participation. Please remember:

  • No coaching is allowed
  • Cell phones should be turned off and must not be used by any players
  • Spectators should be courteous to all players - no shouting out advice, clapping on errors, etc.
