Happy New Year!

The Raleigh Tennis Association (RTA) is a non-profit organization designed to promote tennis activities in the Raleigh area.

The RTA organizes USTA League play for juniors, adults and seniors. There is competitive tennis available for all ages and abilities. In addition, we offer information for beginning developmental programs of various kinds to both juniors and adults.

We hope you find our website useful in your quest for information about Raleigh area tennis.  Thank you for your support as we work towards growing the game in our community.  We welcome any feedback or questions you may have.

Raleigh Women's Challenger Begins May 7

May 7th - 13th, North Hills Club

It brings us great pleasure to announce that North Hills Club will again host the Women’s Challenger Tennis Tournament. This event will draw players from all over the world, bringing with it a great deal of publicity. This year’s tournament will be held May 7th-13th.  The Qualifying draw begins Sunday, May 6th and Main draw begins Tuesday, May 8th.  The Raleigh Women’s Challenger is in its fifth straight year. This $25,000 event is the only USTA Pro Circuit tournament held in North Carolina, and is the last clay court tournament before the 2012 French Open.

NCTF Offers Grants Totaling $11,000

The NC Tennis Foundation Emily H. Preyer Family Endowment Fund

At this time, the NC Tennis Foundation is prepared to begin offering grants from the endowment or gift fund. 

There will be a total of $11,000 given out in four categories of grants for 2012.  Click here for more information.

TENNIS FOR TATAS

May 4th & 5th - Wakefield Plantation

On Friday, May 4, 2012, there will be Ladies Play, Quads Format Morning Session and/or Afternoon Session.  On Saturday, May 5th- 4-6 p.m, there will be Mixed Doubles (2 8-Game Pro Sets).  100% of the proceeds help benefit Rex Healthcare’s Breast Care Center & Mobile Mammography by providing mammograms to uninsured women throughout our community!  Cost: $50 per player/session: Includes a goodie bag with  T-shirt and meal.    MORE  INFORMATION INCLUDING REGISTRATION ONLINE at  WWW.WPTENNISFORTATAS.COM

New League Age Divisions on Tap for 2013

What exactly is changing?

In NC, USTA age divisions for league play have been Adult (18 & over), Senior (50 & over) Super Senior (60 & over) Super Senior 70s (70 & over).The new structure, which will begin in NC in 2013, will have age divisions of 18 & Over, 40 & Over, 55 & Over and 65 & over.
