Adult League Tennis

USTA League is the country’s largest recreational tennis league. Raleigh has one of the most active leagues in the US. Whether you are just starting out or returning to tennis after a break, there is a place for you. Age divisions start at age 18 and extend through 70 and older.

Play is based on the USTA’s NTRP rating system which enables you to play with players of similar skill level. If you’re new to the Raleigh area or new to tennis, we can help. Feel free to contact us! Learn more about what to expect from USTA League tennis here.

Important Information for All Leagues

Matches:

  • Matches are the best of 3 sets with a 10 point Coman tiebreak being played in lieu of a third set when the score is tied at one set all.

  • The winning team enters scores into Tennislink within 48 hours.

  • In the event of inclement weather, make-up matches should be played within 14 days. Due to limited court availability, matches may be made up court by court.

  • Raleigh city teams can click here for court reservations for make-up matches.

  • If you are needing to reschedule a match due to weather, click here for line up exchange

Home Team:

  • Providing match-ready courts and new tennis balls is the responsibility of the home team. The home team captain should communicate court-readiness decisions with the visiting team captain as early as possible.

  • Each team should provide their own beverages.

Facilities:

  • Any team using Raleigh city courts as their home team will pay court fees directly to Raleigh Parks and Recreation for their home matches. Courts are billed at $10 per court per match. Invoices are sent to the team captains who may in turn collect fees from their team members.

  • The league coordinator will reserve courts for any team using Raleigh city courts. Club players will secure courts through their respective clubs.

NTRP Ratings:

  • Adult USTA teams use NTRP ratings to determine a player’s level.

  • If you don’t know what your rating is, visit Tennislink to understand ratings.

  • If you don’t have a rating, click the “Self Rate” button on Tennislink and answer the questions. Your rating will be generated immediately.
