New to Raleigh Tennis

Raleigh Tennis Association
 

History: Established in 2004, RTA serves as the primary resource for all things tennis in the greater Raleigh, NC area.  The Raleigh Tennis Association is a non-profit 501 (c)3 organization and operates under the guidance of the United States Tennis Association (USTA) and in conjunction with the North Carolina Tennis Association (NCTA).

 

Leadership: RTA's Board of Directors composes a group of 10 strongly committed volunteers who are dedicated to the improvement and growth of the sport of tennis in the community.  Board members represent all social, economic, and geographic sectors of the community and comprise various professions, including corporate workers, lawyers, tennis pros, and accountants.

Mission: The Raleigh Tennis Association is committed growing, promoting, and supporting tennis in the greater Raleigh, NC area.  The RTA aims to connect every player or prospective player with opportunities to participate in tennis through programming, collaboration, funding, diversity & inclusion, outreach, and advocacy.

Goals: 

  • Programming: Establish new player initiatives, coordinate social and competitive leagues, host tournaments across all levels, organize events, and provide resources.

  • Collaboration: Build and manage relationships with area tennis providers and facilities in order to further the growth of tennis.

  • Funding: Raise and distribute funds throughout the greater Raleigh community in order to create opportunities on and off the tennis court.

  • Diversity & Inclusion: Ensure equitable access to RTA services as well as the opportunity for fair and respectful participation for all.

  • Outreach: Create initiatives that empower every player or prospective player to join our tennis community.

  • Advocacy: Team up with local leaders and organizations to advocate for projects that make tennis accessible to all.
